To achieve this finish on the leather, we apply a clear gloss coating to the top layer which, when dried, creates its shiny, reflective surface. That means when you’re cleaning the shoe surface, you are treating the coating, not the underlying leather. Please be aware, this coating is not waterproof. If it’s exposed to water, it will seep into the leather under the patent coating and leave a mark.
How To Care
Step One
Lightly buff the surface with a soft, dry cloth to keep the texture defined and free from dust.
Step Two
If needed, use a barely-damp microfibre cloth to spot-clean. Pat, don’t drag let the grain stay as it is.
Step Three
Let the leather air out after wearing. A little breathing room helps the crinkle settle back into its natural shape.
What to Avoid
Do not use any hard cloths or brushes that could damage the coating.
Do not expose to heat, direct sunlight or hairdryers. These stiffen the leather and can warp the crinkle.
Do not use oils, waxes or heavy conditioners. They weigh down the surface and smooth out the very texture that makes it special.
